About Us

Sachem Ice Hockey Club is a not for profit organization of dedicated volunteers and athletes striving for excellence in ice hockey. SIHC provides a positive and challenging life experience through competitive ice hockey for students, grade 7 through 12, of the Sachem School district by participation in the Suffolk County High School Ice Hockey League as well as local, regional and state tournament play. Coaches, Parents and Players agree to a written Code of Conduct built on SHIC's dedication to good sportsmanship, commitment, self-discipline and teamwork. SHIC is based on strong participation by parents, players, coaches, alumni and other community members.
 

Our key objectives include:
 

• Establish a positive environment with qualified, USA Hockey certified and SHIC approved coaches.

• Provide a safe and healthy environment for the athletes at practices and games using only certified and insured facilities.

• Teach and develop fundamental and advanced individual skills, progressing to team stratagies and concepts of team play.

• Help our players realize their individual goals, from simply having fun, through making their high school team, to striving for a scholarship for college hockey and beyond.

• Provide exposure through competition with other state and national tournament bound teams in the Suffolk County High School Hockey League and other USA Hockey sanctioned local, regional and national tournaments.

• Encourage individual growth and help develop a quality, community minded person.
